The Basics

What do I need to join?

You need to download the official Cobblemon Fabric Modpack. You can also download this Pokériding mod, but it is not mandatory to play!

Note: You will not be able to join the server with the Forge Modpack.

How do I protect my base from griefing?

Using a golden hoe, right click the two opposite corners around your base. Please see the claiming page for a full guide!

How do I teleport to my claim?

You must set a home to teleport to it using "/sethome [name]".

If you have not done this, you can locate your claim with "/flan list" to see its coordinates.

What server commands are there?

Please see the commands page for the complete list.

What warps are there?

You can see all avaliable warps by typing "/warps"!

What time does the server restart?

At 00:00 UTC every day.

What difficulty is Aetheria?

Peaceful, to ensure the optimal Pokémon-focused experience. Keepinventory is turned on, so no need to worry about losing your stuff. There is also no fall damage to counteract the risk of using Pokémon to fly. PVP is by default disabled, but can be toggled on for fun with "/pvp true"!

All other usual things can still kill you (e.g. lava)!

How do I vote?

Type "/vote" to bring up all voting links on the server. You can vote daily to recieve keys for the vote crate, which can be redeemed at "/warp crates" by right clicking the crate with the key in your hand! All links can also be found here on the voting page.

I found an abandoned unclaimed base, can I loot it?

No, griefing/raiding is against Aetheria's rules!

When a base has been abandoned by a player for >3 months (unless they have a lot of playtime), we place all chest loot (with the exception of special event items) in the shulker's at "/spawn" for others to take. With permission from Staff however, you may claim an abandoned base for yourself to live in. Most abandoned bases are removed and the land regenerated to provide fresh space for new players!

Pokémon Questions

Where can I find [Pokémon name]?

Please see the Cobblemon Wiki. You can also use "/pwiki [pokémon name]" ingame for most species.

How do I get Legendary Pokémon?

They spawn every 6 hours on a random player or can be obtained from crates. Please see the Legendary page for more information.

Can I obtain all Legendary Pokémon?

Sadly, Cobblemon does not yet have all the Legendaries, nor do any of them naturally spawn. We do, however, use a mod to make them spawn so they can be captured! Please see the Legendary page for more information.

Why is that Pokémon white / why are there white starters?

That is a special form known as Albino! They are similar to shiny Pokémon, but are much rarer. Each one is created by the server owner (Oceanocelot), with new ones added at the start of each month! For more details, please see the Albinos page.

How do I get Albino Pokémon?

They are a rare natural spawn and can be received from certain crates. Please see the Albino page for more information.

Why can't I see Albino Pokémon?

You need to download our server’s resource pack. This will be automatically prompted with a link upon joining the server if it does not, or you accidentally declined it, you can find it in ⁠🔗links-and-roles on our Discord.

How does chaining work?

Can I breed Pokémon?

Yes! Please see the breeding page for details.

Does breeding a shiny Pokémon increase the likelihood of offspring being shiny?

Nope, all shinys from breeding are full odds (1/4096)!

How do I level up my Pokémon?

Battling wild Pokémon, challenging the battle tower, fighting other players, and using Exp/Rare Candies! Please see our Leveling Guide for more information.

How do I EV train my Pokémon?

Pretty much the same way as any Pokémon game. Please see the EV training page for more information.

How do I get Hidden Ability (HA) Pokémon?

Either in the wild through chaining, by using an Ability Patch(rewarded from certain crates), or through breeding.

How do I start a battle?

Go up to another player and press "R", then select the battle option. Alternatively, you can use "/challenge".

How do I trade Pokémon with someone?

Go up to another player and press "R" then select the trade option. You can also list Pokémon on the GTS, wonder trade them, or even gift a Pokémon to another player with "/pokegift [slot] [username]"!

How can I list my Pokémon or items that I would like to trade?

We recommend using the GTS on the server, or the 💰selling-trading-buying channel in our Discord.

How do you hand in hunt Pokémon / why didn’t I get a reward from catching this Pokémon?

The gender and ability must match what is listed in "/hunts". You also cannot breed/trade Pokémon for the hunt, they must be captured from the wild. For more details, please see the Pokéhunts page.

There's a Pokémon wandering around that I can't catch, why?

Players can put their Pokémon in a pasture to allow them to roam around. If you can't catch that level 100 shiny Garchomp you found, then that's probably why.

I can’t fly with my Pokémon!

You need to install the cobblemon rider mod on your client to be able to fly with mounts.

How do I get Pokémon icons on my map?

Download the E19 Resource Pack .

What is a relic coin?

Relic coins are used to evolve Gimmighoul. They can also be sold to "/warp pokemart" for ₽200 each!

Server Questions

What is there to do in Aetheria?

We have eight NPC Gyms and nineteen Player Gyms to challenge! The Battletower can be challenged daily for rewards! There is also a little quest for a special Aetheria Legendary, which is unlocked once all NPC Gyms are defeated.

Other than that, you can do the usual Pokémon/Minecraft things such as building, farming, mining, making a team, breeding, training, battling, trading, and shiny hunting (or even hunt some Aetheria-exclusive Albinos). We also have regular server events such as Hide and Seek, Spleef, Building Contests, and Battle Tournaments!

Spleef, the Hide and Seek Arena, and the Battle Stadium can be accessed at all times to host your own games with "/warp spleef", "/warp hideandseek", and "/warp battlestadium"!

Are there gyms?

Yes, we have both NPC and Player made gyms!

NPC gyms can be accessed with "/warp gyms", while Player gyms each have their own warps which can be accessed with "/playergymwarps". Gym badges can be accessed with "/badgecase" and /"playerbadgecase" respectively.

Some players also run their own unofficial gyms, which are posted on our Discord in 🤼‍♂️unofficial-gyms!

Are there kits?

Yes! These can be viewed and claimed with "/kits". All players get a kit containing a Cobble Key, which can be claimed daily. Most other kits are rank exclusive and can be claimed on a weekly basis.

We occasionally have kits for special events which can be claimed for a limited time and often contain exclusive items!

How do I get crate keys?

By claiming "/kits", voting for the server, participating in events, or purchasing them from our shop. Please see the crates page for more information.

How do I get resources?

Many Pokémon drop resources such as slimeballs and string. Drops can be checked on the Cobblemon Wiki. Alternatively, you can purchase them from "/warp pokemart".

How do I get Minecraft exp in Peaceful difficulty?

Mining ores, killing Pokémon or passive mobs, and exp bottles (obtained from certain crates or bought from "/warp pokemart").

How do I make money?

Selling things to "/warp pokemart" and other players on the GTS, challenging the Battle Tower, voting, and opening certain crates.

What is that heart icon (♡) next to a player's name?

That player is married! Check out the marry page for more information.

What is that shield icon (⛨) next to a player's name?

That player is an Official Gym Leader! You can ask them for a battle.

How do I add a waypoint to my map?

Press "N" to open your map, move your cursor to where you would like the waypoint to be, then press "B". Keep in mind, these Keybinds can be changed in the Settings menu. For more information, please check out Xaero's Minimap's on Modrinth.

Why can’t I place tripwire hooks?

To prevent players accidently placing their crate keys (it was a reoccuring issue).

Why can't I place string?

There's a bug in this version of Minecraft which allows string to be infinitley duplicated.

What's up with my display case?

Display cases are very buggy.

Why is this server missing features such as Megas?

Unfortunately, many of these are provided by mods which must be downloaded both by the player and the server. As a result, many players would be unable to join the server without first downloading all of them, making the server inaccessible to many! We are, however, constantly both looking for and creating our own server-side only features to keep things interesting!
